The NTU Taekwondo (TKD) Club, sub-club of the Sports Club, is the largest martial arts group in Nanyang Technological University.
Since its inception in the late 1980s, the club has produced and nurtured many talented members in both Kyorugi (sparring) and Poomsae (pattern), and done the club proud by winning numerous awards and medals in championships and national competitions. This year, 2012, the club hosted the Taekwondo Open Championship (TOC), and had once again retained the overall champion.
The club is open to all, and prior experience in Taekwondo is not required. Members will be exposed to both traditional and sports Taekwondo with trainings emphasising on Kyorugi (sparring) techniques as well as Poomsae (pattern) training. Under the guidance of our Shifu, Mr Keith Chua, and many of our experienced alumnus, seniors and blackbelts, members can expect to grow and learn in a club which aims to bring out the best in them. The club strives to provide a conducive environment not just for physical training but also a place where friendships are forged.
