Regular Service Project (Elders) was set up in July 1993 to meet the increasing demand for volunteers to interact with the senior citizens in our society.

We operate on the conviction that a meaningful way in which the volunteers can help is by being a constant source of care and companionship for the elders on a long-term basis. We actively seek to understand the emotional and physical needs of the elderly and aim to alleviate their loneliness and boredom by befriending and organizing activities for them. All in all, we hope to bridge the generation gap between the elderly and us.

The Home: Asian Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA) AWWA Community Home for Senior Citizens has been initiated since 1993 and it is located at Ang Mo Kio Ave 6 Blk 123, a 10-minute walk from Ang Mo Kio MRT station. The elderly in this home are generally independent and are able to take care of their daily livelihood. The weekly interaction sessions are held every Saturday from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.

The Home: Tan Tock Seng – Ren Ci Community Hospital A new centre located within TTSH-Ren Ci Community Hospital was set up in 2011 and it is located just beside Tan Tock Seng Hospital at Novena. The patients in this hospital are either for rehabilitation or on awaiting placement list to permanent homes. The weekly interaction sessions are held every Saturday from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Volunteers helped to brighten up the sulking atmosphere by having occasional singing sessions and minor handicraft sessions.
