NTU/NIE Malay Language and Cultural Society (PERBAYU) was established in year 1991 as one of the student organisations registered under the Registrar Of Societies (ROS).
Perbayu was established purportedly to develop the use of the Malay language and to enhance awareness of Malay culture among Malay teachers at the National Institute of Education (NIE, Bukit Timah).
With NIE's transfer to Nanyang Technological University (NTU, Boon Lay) campus, PERBAYU has open its doors to Malay students in NTU
