Description

The Nanyang Technological University Choir (NTU Choir) was set up in 1989 to promote choral awareness among the varsity population and beyond.   Since its birth in 1989, the NTU Choir has entertained local and international audiences. The choir is remarkably cosmopolitan, with a common passion for singing and choral music uniting our diversity, and shares its music through its annual concert named Cantemus (English: “To sing”).  In June 2013, the NTU Choir participated in the 4th International Krakow Festival, the largest international choir festival in Poland. This event featured 26 choirs from around the world. Under the directorship of our resident conductor, Mr Yong Chee Foon, the NTU Choir clinched 1st Prize for the Folklore category as well as 2nd Prize for the Mixed Choirs category. Mr Yong was also awarded a Distinction for Conductor award. In 2008, the NTU Choir was crowned Champion of the Folksong category at the 36th Festival of Songs in Olomouc, Czech Republic.
