A meeting was held on 15 September 2004 by representatives from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Office of Facilities, Planning and Management (OFPM), a few members of the Nanyang Pets Support Group (NPSG) and representatives from the Cat Welfare Society (CWS) to consider the feasibility of establishing "Cat Cafes" on the NTU campus.
